xhatch: Not only am I totally jealous of the locations these are shot, but the amazing craftsmanship these photographers have. Take a close look at the slow shutter photographs with humans in it; very difficult to do a slow shutter photo with them static. Enjoy!

More fiddling with flash
My brother pointed me to the Strobist link for balancing flash and ambient light.  I decided to give the exercise a try, using my old Nikon F90. This shot was taken at the highest flash sync speed (1/250) with an aperture of f/8.  The flash was off-camera, about 5 feet away, set to Manual mode at 1/4 power.  For the next succeeding shots, I progressively dialed down the shutter speed while...

Fiddling with Flash
I read somewhere that you could make the image appear that it is a night time image by manipulating the shutter speed.  With an SB-800 flash set to TTL, the flash will take care of properly exposing the subject; the shutter speed will take care of exposing for the ambient light.  I read somehwere that if you use a fast shutter speed (in the case of the picture above, I used the fastest...

This year’s Grand Homecoming was a mixture of warm beer, chilled red wine, and photo ops with Noynoy and Mar.  The atmosphere was erratic and hardly electric, but the fun is not because of the bands that play, but always because of your friends.
